Get to know me

Here are some facts about me, some are even fun:

I’ll get it out right now, I consider Die Hard a perfectly acceptable Christmas movie and will not be moved from that opinion.

In my spare time, I make cake pops. Cake on a stick, that’s correct.

I will not support or engage with racist, anti-semitic, bigoted, or non-inclusive behavior. I am also a member of the queer community, and if that is an issue for you, I respectfully suggest that we are not a good fit.

My husband makes an english toffee that could make you weep, and I send it out to clients sometimes (wink wink).

I am a Travel Agent and the owner of ErinFaith Travel where I take as much of the planning off your hands that will give you the best, memorable experience.

How I dealt with COVID and one habit that may help you too.

In March of 2020, I bought one of the last treadmills in Tennessee, and started walking to YouTube videos.  I would put on a video walking tour of Disney World, or Venice Beach or Boston (my favorite town), and just walk with the video.  It helped me feel connected during the darker times of the lockdown and even now when it’s easy to feel uncertain about the future. I started watching Rick Steve’s videos as he toured through Europe.  I even rewatched Burn Notice again because they film everything in Miami, and I longed for the escapism. I’m sure everyone is finding little ways to keep their sanity, but the walking tour videos have helped me.  Also putting on the park bench video series from DisUnplugged.  It’s literally a video from the point of view of a park bench on Disney property.  I can’t explain why It’s calming, but there must be something magical in the Disney background music.  I’ll light my Polynesian lobby candle, and throw on the Polynesian lobby video and just breath in and out for a few minutes.

I understand that this is a habit of privilege; not everyone has access to or owns a treadmills. In lieu of not finding the last, dirt-cheap treadmill in your state and driving two hours to pick it up (yes, that’s what I did!). Try walking outside, which apart from being an obvious alternative, it’s great for my mental health to go outside and breath the air at least once a day. When walking outside, I turn to podcasts or audiobooks. For whatever reason, the audiobook of Pride and Prejudice (narrated by Rosamund Pike) has been my security blanket during the pandemic. Her voice is soothing, the characters are familiar and all I know is that it calms me down on a stressful day.

We’re all experiencing it differently, but I hope you stay safe, and choose to do or find something good each day.
